Many improvements have been made over the past years, to the walkways and surrounding areas, which included:

• Widening and improving the paths to ensure disabled access
• Two Caithness slate monoliths have been installed at each end of the reserve
• The installation of a ramp on the Boardwalk
• Installation of signage and interpretive panels
• Motorbike deterrent measures
• The installation of benches
